Jerry Knirk
Jerry Knirk practiced as an orthopedic spine surgeon in Boston until arthritis in his thumbs stopped his surgical career. He then practiced as a non-operative spinal physician in Conway for 9 years. In 2016 he embarked on a legislative career, serving in the New Hampshire House of Representatives, on the Health, Human Services and Elderly Affairs Committee, for 6 years. He has served/is serving on numerous legislative committees and commissions and statewide boards.
He served on the board (including as chair) of Green Mountain Conservation Group. He served on the board of Calumet Lutheran Ministries (Camp Calumet) for 6 years and served at Calumet as a wilderness counselor for children and a trip leader for adult hiking and kayaking trips. He and his wife had three boys which provided lots of experience teaching them about nature and partners for scuba diving, kayaking, camping, skiing, ice climbing and mountain climbing, including numerous winter summits in the Presidential range and Mount Rainier.
Most of his hobbies involve outside activities–hiking, running, biking, kayaking, swimming and skiing (alpine and Nordic) with much time devoted to gardening with a large garden and greenhouse.
He and his wife sing with the Silver Lake Singers and with the Sandwich Singers.
