Nathan Mahan

Nathan Mahan

Nathan grew up in southwest Virginia and was lucky enough to spend his childhood fishing, hiking, canoeing, and camping in such a beautiful part of the country. After studying language and literature in college he moved to Boston, but pretty quickly made his way back outdoors, working on the farms and plant nurseries outside of the city. The wilderness was calling, though, and he found himself spending more and more time in New Hampshire and falling in love with the state.

Lots of time on trail in different parts of the country has exposed him to the good and the bad of how our natural resources are managed, and this insight eventually led him to the conservation field. He recently completed a trail work and facilities maintenance program at Squam Lakes Association in Holderness, and now, with a little luck and serendipity, has found his way to Tin Mountain.

In his free time you can find Nathan exploring the quieter corners of the Whites, or, when time allows, the deserts of the Southwest.
