David Govatski
David has been a Naturalist for over twenty years. His professional background was with the U.S. Forest Service where he worked for 33 years until retirement in a variety of positions and locations across the country as a Forester, Silviculturist, and Forest Fire Management Officer. David is also a US Army veteran. Since his retirement he has worked as an expedition ship naturalist in Alaska and Iceland. David was the co-author of Forests for the People – The Story of the Eastern National Forests. David is chairman of the Nash Stream Forest Advisory Committee, is on the board of the Loon Preservation Committee, and is a trustee of the NH Chapter of the Nature Conservancy. David lives in Jefferson with his wife Kathi and both enjoy hiking and Nordic skiing.
