Sue Wemyss
Sue Wemyss brings her interests in the environment and skiing, as well as her love of working with children to the Tin Mountain Board of Trustees. Sue is an accomplished cross country skier having been a member of the 1984 U.S. Olympic Nordic Ski Team as well as the U.S. Ski Team, World Cup Team and the World University Team as well as the World Championship Team. Sue served as the Ski School Director and Recreational Programs instructor at Great Glen Trails for 24 years teaching Nordic Skiing, fitness, kayaking and mountain biking to all age groups. She has directed the Great Glen to Bretton Woods Nordic Adventure an the New England Bill Koch League in 2012 and 2016. She was awarded the 2012 New England Nordic Ski Association Bill Koch League award of Excellence for, "exceptional contributions to youth Nordic Skiing in New England. She recently was the Book Project Leader and contributing writer for "Trail to Gold: The Journey of 53 Women Skiers", which was published in 2021.
In addition to her distinguished skiing career, Sue has also been a classroom teacher, coach, and guide for people of all ages. She's been an active member of Tin Mountain joining in many of the Nature Programs and was one of the first to complete the Naturalist Certification Program in 2015. She recently designed a nature trail and guide for the pubic at Great Glen Trails.
Sue lives in Randolph, NH with her husband Howie and together they enjoy travel, hiking, nature observation and study, trail running, mtn. biking and kayaking along with reading and writing.
