Environmental Book Group: Everyone’s Trash
Our September selection is Duncan Watson’s Everyone Everyone's Trash: One Man Against 1.6 Billion Pounds. The book is a fascinating look into the social aspects of the local landfill and the intricacies of waste disposal and recycling. Watson has been running the City of Keene’s solid waste program for 33 years, and has brought national attention to the program for solid waste disposal the city has built. Everyday 1.6 billion pounds of trash are discarded in the US, and every piece has a story. Duncan will be joining us via Zoom for this discussion.
We will be meeting in person at the Nature Learning Center in Albany. However, there is also a Zoom link option for those unable to join in person.
