Wendy Van de Poll, BA, MS, is, as she readily admits, “wildly creative and deeply committed.” For decades, she has expressed her creativity and her commitment to Nature through a multitude of media. From fine art and massage therapy for humans, horses, and hounds, to writing bestsellers, fiber collage, and thread painting, her creative life has always been rooted in a deep curiosity about animals and the natural world.
With training in wild canine biology, particularly wolves and coyotes, her journey took her from the harsh winters of Minnesota to the forests of southern New Hampshire and many places in between. Along the way, she honed her ability to observe, understand, and communicate with animals.
With a specialization in pet loss grief, she also helps people maintain a deep connection with the animals they love, both present and recently departed.
The work in this exhibition reflects all of these threads of her life. Beyond the intricate detail that can seem almost impossible to achieve with fabric and thread, Van de Poll seeks to breathe life into the animals she depicts—to capture something of their presence and invite the viewer into a deeper relationship with the wild.

See for yourself, and enjoy meeting these remarkable animals through her work.
