Dirt Road Maintenance: Winning the Battle with Mud, Potholes, & Washouts
Intense rains require careful road maintenance to reduce washouts and threats to surface water quality. Road maintenance contractor Russ Lanoie will discuss the basic principles behind maintaining gravel/dirt roads to provide better year-round service and present minimal non-point source pollution problems. This is a practical workshop that conveys techniques that are effective on all gravel/dirt roads. The indoor portion will be followed by a field exercise on Tin Mountain’s gravel parking lot and driveway.
